Sunday, April 22 is Earth Day! No matter how you celebrate, you can certain that there are a ton of options. In fact, one of these options includes heading to the nearby California Citrus State Historic Park. It’s only a 10-minute drive from your Metro Gateway apartment! “Orange” you glad you live in the middle of the action? (We couldn’t help ourselves.)
California Citrus State Historic Park
9400 Dufferin Avenue (at the corner of Van Buren Blvd)
If you have yet to check out this stunning, local park, why not schedule a visit? Besides being a little piece of fruity goodness, the park also highlights a bit of California’s citrus history. What started out as two small navel orange trees have now grown to a huge and lush grove of lemons, oranges, and grapefruit.
Plus, Earth Day is all about celebrating and preserving our environment. Visitors and guests can not only check out the biking and hiking trails but even do some taste testing! With fruit tastings and more, you can appreciate the local land in an entirely new way. Don’t forget to explore the visitor center and museum for a bit of California history. See below for hours.
Monday-Friday: 8 am-5 pm
Saturday-Sunday: 8 am-7 pm
