Add Some Fragrance to Your Riverside Apartments

A great way to mark the transition between seasons from summer to fall is to have a nice aroma in your Riverside apartments that leaves you a bit reminiscent about summer. While there are lots of things out there like candles and incense you can burn, there’s just something refreshing about going lighter and tending to an actual flower in your Riverside apartments. Luckily, there are so many to choose from that are going to leave a fragrant imprint on where you live. Here’s just a short list of some of the flowers you may choose to have in your apartments:

1. Gardenia
2. Lavender
3. Scented Geraniums
4. Indoor Citrus
5. Orchids

These flowers require their own maintenance rituals, which you can find here. They are a wonderful way to bring some much-needed life and soul into your apartment. And depending on which scent you decide on, it can set the entire ambiance for what you’re trying to go for.

For instance, if you want a scent that’s fragrance will leave you feel refreshed and less anxious, then lavender is a good way to go. Lavender is notorious for having a great impact on one’s mental health and nerves. If you’re looking for something a bit more stimulating, having the smell of a citrus flower can be more beneficial. In fact, if you work from your Riverside apartments, it can be something that helps you get your work done. Finally, if you’re looking for a smell that overpowers all and leaves you with a sense of purity, gardenia might be the best way to go.

When decorating apartments, most people get so fixated on what it looks like that they forget the other senses that truly help create a home. Which fragrant flower will you choose to bring the best out of your Riverside apartments?

Going Green in Your Riverside Apartments

If you have the time or interest, consider going green in your Riverside apartments. What does this mean, exactly? This means being aware of your carbon footprint and trying to leave a light one- meaning using the MINIMAL amount of water, electricity, etc. to ensure that you are helping preserve nature’s resources. Once you make it a habit, you’ll enjoy the added perk of saving on your utility bills at your apartments in Riverside.

Here are some other ways to go green:

Ditch the Plastic

Avoid buying plastic/Styrofoam cups and utensils to use as dishes and use real dishes instead. After all, the smaller the pile of trash you create is, the smaller footprint you leave on earth and the less amount you contribute to piles of garbage that may eventually get dumped in the ocean.

Grow it Yourself

Try growing your own seasoning or fruits and vegetables. Even in your apartments, you’re allowed to bring in little pots that you can have in a section and monitor with the right amount of light and water in order to grow healthy things for yourself. This will emit good CO2 in your department, save you money on groceries and bags/trash/gas associated with groceries, and could encourage fellow visitors in your apartments to do the same.

Mind Your Utilities

As mentioned briefly above, be conscientious of how you use and abuse your utilities. Use natural light whenever possible and make sure that lights and fans are turned off if you aren’t in a room. Although it could be tempting to put the AC on at an extreme setting to keep the house cool, try opening windows and using other alternatives to block the sun out of where you live to keep your house cool.

“I love to watch the fine mist of the night come on,
The windows and the stars illumined, one by one,
The rivers of dark smoke pour upward lazily,
And the moon rise and turn them silver. I shall see
The springs, the summers, and the autumns slowly pass;
And when old Winter puts his blank face to the glass,
I shall close all my shutters, pull the curtains tight,
And build me stately palaces by candlelight.”
― Charles Baudelaire, Les Fleurs du Mal

New Year’s Goals for You in Riverside

Are you looking to be more productive than you were last year? If so, why not consider finishing any writing projects you may have started in your apartments in Riverside. There’s nothing more stressful than having a few (or many) unfinished projects strewn around that demand your attention.

If you need some tips on finishing off where you got started, here’s what you can do to make the process a little easier for you:

1. Begin again with the end in mind. Big picture stuff- what do you see happening with your book? Do you see it getting amazing publicity and possibly becoming a best-seller? What was the whole reason you started writing your book to begin with?
2. Get reacquainted with your characters, the story, and themes behind the piece you were writing. If you’ve decided to make it a short story rather than a full-length book, then consider submitting it to Forth Magazine, an online literary magazine based in Silverlake, California.
3. Take time to reflect on what you’ve learned on your “break” since writing your book. Did you come up with any breakthroughs as far as how the flow or structure of your book should be?
Get connected with writers’ groups near your apartments in Riverside if needed. Make the time now to finish all unfinished projects!
